On March 26, 2026, a six-member delegation from Southern China University of Technology (SCUT) visited our Institute. The delegation was led by Prof. Zhongming Yang (楊中民), academician of CAE and the Rector of SCUT. Hosted by Qibing Pei, Chair Professor and Director of IAPME, the delegation first had a brief tour at our Institute’s exhibition room. Then Prof. Handong Sun conducted a brief introduction on IAPME’s development, including its construction history, the missions & strategies, and the main focused research areas. Both parties took the opportunity to share the experience in education, fundamental research as well as research transformation.
During the delegation’s visit, Prof. Pei and Prof. Sun showcased IAPME’s phased research progress and internationalization efforts. The delegation was very much impressed with IAPME’s elite research achievements. They enquired with interest about the technical details of each research project. The visit clearly strengthened the mutual understanding of each other’s research focus and capability. Both parties expressed strong intention to establish effective collaboration, especially leveraging the close ties across the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.
