UM’s research project awarded grant by National Natural Science Foundation of China
The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) has released the list of successful applications for funding for key research projects in the year 2017. After a rigorous process, two projects were selected for funding from more than 100 submissions. One of them was a research project involving Tang Zikang, director of the Institute of Applied Physics and Materials Engineering (IAPME), University of Macau (UM); and Xing Guichuan, an assistant professor from the IAPME. They will receive a grant of RMB 12 million over a period of three years.
Titled ‘High-Performance Light-Emitting Materials and Devices Based on Dimension-Tunable Perovskites’, the project is part of the ‘Energy-Oriented Photoelectric and Electrophotonic Materials’ research programme. It aims to support China’s strategies for sustainable energy development to achieve the goal of developing high-efficiency and stable perovskite light-emitting devices. The research grant application for this project was jointly submitted by researchers from UM, Zhejiang University, the South China University of Technology, and Nanjing Tech University.
The ‘Energy-Oriented Photoelectric and Electrophotonic Materials’ research programme aims to address China’s strategic need for solving energy problems and improving China’s innovative capability in the field of energy photoelectric materials and devices through collaboration among experts from different disciplines, including materials science, chemistry, mathematics, and information science.
