Prof. Huanhuan FENG Gave a Talk at IAPME

On 10 January, Prof. Huanhuan FENG from Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), was invited to give a talk entitled ” Hybrid micromotors fabrication & motion mechanism “. At the seminar, Prof. FENG  introduced his research on micromotors. Micro-nano robots are promising devices for applications in drug delivery, sensing, environmental remediation, and manipulation of small objects. These machines convert energy into motion by scavenging fuel from their surrounding media, or by harnessing power from external energy sources such as light, ultrasound, electrical or magnetic fields, or combinations of these environmental remediation, and manipulation of small objects.  Here we have systematically worked on the fabrication of those hybrid micromotors and investigate their motion mechanism. The demonstration we presented here starts with a classical H2O2 driven hybrid fluorescent micromotors and continues by a series magnetic driven micromotors with different scales from nanometers to micrometer or even millimeters.   They all show their unique capability and application in specific scenario.

Prof. Huanhuan FENG obtained BSc and Master degree in polymer physical chemistry from Beijing Normal University in 2006 and 2009. He then moved to Netherlands and finished his PhD research on Physical Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Martien Cohen Stuart at Wageningen University, Wageningen, Netherlands. He conducted his postdoctoral research in physical chemistry especially in colloid science with Prof. Jasper van der Gucht and Professor Joris Sprakel in Wageningen University.  He is now working in Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) as an assistant professor.
