In the last two months, four research teams of IAPME have participated in the 5th Macau Industrial Products Show at Macau Fisherman’s Wharf Convention and Exhibition Centre and the 23rd Macau International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF) at the Venetian Macao. The representative research products in areas of advanced functional materials and energy conversion were exhibited in the two said events.
In the exhibitions, IAPME displayed representative research products including super elastic and multifunctional polymer hydrogels activated by cement-released nanoparticles; quantum dot luminescent materials and devices used for next generation of flat panel display technology; novel perovskite solar cell; and low cost, excellent recyclability, fast visible light driven biofoam for high-efficient wastewater purification. Hundreds of guests as well as students from Hou Kong Middle School, Keang Peng School and Kao Yip Middle School visited the booths with our guide. In addition, Prof. Guoxing Sun was interviewed by Teledifusão de Macau (TDM) to introduce some of the exhibition products. Through these two signature events in Macau, IAPME has increased its exposure to the Macau community as well as visitors from other regions and countries. Through these platforms, numerous enterprises and research institutions have expressed their preliminary collaboration intentions with us. In the coming years, IAPME will strive to make further achievements on industry-university-research collaboration.
The 5th Macau Industrial Products Show is the first large-scale industrial exhibition since the return of Macao, after the 4th industrial Products Show held in 1995. 197 booths were set up and 134 enterprises were attracted to participate in the exhibition. The 23rd MIF is the annual exhibition which had attracted business people in various fields from all over the world, especially from the countries along the “Belt and Road”, the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Portuguese-speaking countries and European countries. Both exhibitions had provided new elements on the industry-related and themed commodities with innovation and creativity, which not only displayed the new developments of manufacturing industry, but also gave the new directions of scientific and technological innovation. During these exhibitions, representatives of trade promotion agencies and companies gathered in Macao to seek technology development and jointly explore business opportunities. Mr. Chui Sai On, Chief Executive of the Macao SAR, and other political dignitaries and guests were invited to the Opening Ceremonies.
