On 10 June, Prof. Fei DU from Jilin University, gave a talk entitled “Functional Design of Key Electrode Materials for Sodium-Ion and Potassium-Ion Batteries” at IAPME. At the seminar, Prof. DU focus on the functional design and controlled synthesis of several new kinds of key electrode materials for SIBs and PIBs application, such as NASICON-type phosphates, amorphous Sn-P-O glass, conversion-type CuSe and CuS and etc. Besides proposing the strategies to improve the electrochemical performance, Prof. DU figured out the relationship between the structural transition and alkali storage properties to exploit suitable host materials for alkali ions storage with larger ionic radius.
Fei DU, professor of condensed matter physics, vice dean of college of physics, and vice director of Key Laboratory of Physics and Technology for Advanced Batteries, Jilin University. He got this Ph. D of material science and engineering in Jilin University at 2008. After that, he has done the postdoctoral research with Prof. Guangtian Zou (2008-2010) at State Key Lab of Superhard Materials and Prof. Yutaka Ueda (2011-2013) at the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Tokyo, respectively. Prof. Du’s research interest focus on the design of new battery electrode materials and systems. He has authored over 120 scientific publications with h-index of 30, including Nature Materials, Nature Communications, Advanced Energy Materials, Advanced Functional Materials and etc. In 2018, he was selected as the “The Outstanding Reviewer of Journal Materials Chemistry A” and got reward of “Tang’ao’qing young researcher funding” of Jilin University.
