On 17 December, Prof. Xiaolong Zou from Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School visited IAPME and gave a talk on “Emergent optical properties of 2D materials”. In the seminar, he presented recent progress on the effects of different band topologies and Moiré superlattices on the optical properties of 2D systems such as the excitonic emissions. Prof. Zou joined Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School since 2016. He is primarily engaged in first-principles studies on 2D materials. He has published more than 90 papers on journals including Nature, Nature Materials, etc with over 10000 citations.
