On 15 October, Prof. Xiaozhang ZHANG from Tsinghua University, was invited to give a talk entitled ” Advanced flywheels for energy storage “. At the seminar, Prof. Zhang introduced Flywheel energy storage system (FESS). Energy storage is a challenge field in sustainable development. Flywheel energy storage system (FESS) is a promising technology compared to other energy storage technologies. This talk presented the concepts, principles and development of FESS in China. One under-going project was also introduced.
