The Macao SAR Government presented the 2022 Macao Science and Technology Awards on 16 November. The postgraduate Dong LIU from the University of Macau (UM) IAPME was selected by the evaluation committee of the Macao Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) for the Macao Science and Technology Award (Postgraduates).
Dong LIU designed and fabricated multi-metal compounds as electrocatalysts for seawater/water splitting with high performance. He also investigated the structure-activity relationship of multi-metal catalyst and revealed its catalytic mechanism. This study will provide guidance and novel strategies for the design of high-performance electrocatalysts, to break through the technical bottleneck in the electrolysis of seawater/water Relevant findings were published in internationally renowned journals Advanced Energy Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, Small (2 articles).
